Inconsistent measurements for official IKEA LACK enclosure
In the BOM for the LACK enclosure they request 3x Plexi 440 x 440 mm (18×18 inches), 3mm thick (1/8)
However 440×440 doesn't equal 18×18 inches, it's actually 17.323 inches.
So which measurement should be used when ordering cut acrylic panels?
Re: Inconsistent measurements for official IKEA LACK enclosure
Hmm, looks like I'll have some open gaps in my enclosure... I just measured my Lack table and get to a distance of 445mm or 17.5inches between the legs at the tabletop end. I see up to 5mm plus or minus on the inter-leg distance tolerance so maybe Prusa accounted for that in their spec so the acrylic always fits.
Re: Inconsistent measurements for official IKEA LACK enclosure
I have decided to postpone purchase of the acrylic panels until the enclosure is fully assembled. Once it's fully assembled I will take measurements of the spacing and use whatever number I come up with there for cutting the acrylic panels.
Re: Inconsistent measurements for official IKEA LACK enclosure
The #14 2" and #14 1" were what worked for me. The 1" because 3/4" were too short for the bottom pieces and barely reached the table. Not sure if you're ordering the plexiglass as well, but if you go by the 18" measurement they posted, they will be too big as well. Go with 17.3 inches, which is what 440 actually converts to, and 17.3" x 8.65" for the doors. Also I suggest getting some smaller screws to hold in the LED/wire clips if you're going to use them. I just used extra screws I had laying around for them, they were about 1/2" long and fairly skinny, like 1/8" or smaller.

Found this comment in the thingiverse comment section for the official files. 18x18 is definitely too big as originally thought.

I got mine at 17.32 and there's some gap but I figured I could always print some trim to close the gap
Re: Inconsistent measurements for official IKEA LACK enclosure
My acrylic sheets were printed (and measured ) at 440x440mm and the whole assembly fitted perfectly, without modification.
I would estimate the tolerances were ~5mm total along each dimension.
