Functional difference between Lack enclosure V1 and V2, not using MMUS2?
Looking online for precut plexi panels here in the US and not thrilled with what I am seeing on Amazon. Also not thrilled with the idea of getting sheets from the box store and trying to make accurate cuts. So, Printed Solid seems to be a more reliable option but all they have is V2. Will that work for a non MMU Mk3S+? Does using a V2 like that require any changes to filament feed or whatever?

I'm using a V2 without MMU. The interesting advantage is that it has a lid which can be opened. Its also a bit higher, allowing you to place a paver below the printer (together with some noise decoupling below the paver).
I'm not sure how prepared the Printer Solid panels are - you might want to use a different feed system (I'm feeding my filament from the top), but probably the 5 holes in the back do not matter that much.

Were you able to mount filament spools onto the lid? Is there a native port to feed from the top or do you have to come up with something custom? I really liek the idea of a liftable lid.

I'm using these for the filament: https://www.printables.com/model/59647-spool-holder-base-for-locklock-hsm947-salad-bowl - they get just placed on top of the enclosure. Its the easiest way I have found to store the filament in a dry way while at the same timenot being in the way when changing the filament. Otherwise there are a ton of spool holders, most of them should work.
I'm using this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2114888 as filament guide in the lid, just make the PTFE tube from the spools holder long enough to feed through.

The only thing with that filament port is that it leaves a big opening that will vent fumes and leak warm air from the enclosure. I would probably modify that or design a new one to be a snug fit for the ptfe feed tube.

There are also smaller variations of these ports, some small enough for just the PTFE tube. I have printed ABS and ASA, and did not find this to be a problem - the Lack enclosure itself is not airtight anyways, and even the door will leak more air then this port..

I have all but one printer in V2 enclosures, except for my first Mini, for which I thought a V1 would be fine. Which it is, but the V2 just offers a lot more space to work in. You don't need to hollow out the lid, if you don't have an MMU. I find the opening lid to be a useless gimmick; to do any serious work on the printer you'll have to take it out anyway, and you might as well do it through the front door.
I feed filament from above, through the lid. I've tried many spool holders but ended up using these: https://www.printables.com/model/1804 (in fact, the smaller version here: https://www.printables.com/model/230403). Doesn't get any easier just plopping a spool in. I route the filament through the lid with this conduit I designed: https://www.printables.com/model/51457 . I tried other approaches including the slit style linked to by @hli, but I couldn't handle the grating sound of the filament rubbing against the plastic of the conduit anymore. (Let's face the facts. The LACK is a cheap piece of crap, but it's a cheap piece of crap that does the job. It is a giant resonator, so any sound gets magnified.) With the conduit I designed, the filament gets routed through a small piece of PTFE, which makes it (almost) silent. And a paver stone below the printer takes care of other noises.
BTW, I'm also using these "Pocket Doors" https://www.printables.com/model/100422 . I mostly print PETG and don't need to close the door unless I do ASA or PC, and as far I can tell all enclosures on the market have doors that open out into the room and take up space. With these pocket doors, they just slide to the sides.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I saw and also really like the pocket door idea. As for underlayment I was thinking some of those softish interlocking workshop "tiles". I don't think they would be squishy or compressible enough to be a problem. And should provide better sound insulation.
Or I might just say the heck with all this and get the official Prusa enclosure when it is ready. Need to see some user reports first.

I was quite enthusiastic when they announced it but when I specced it out, I thought I don't think so. Maybe okay as a business write-off, otherwise overpriced. I don't necessarily mean overpriced relative to what you get, but for purpose. A Ferrari may well be worth every penny but it's more than what I need to get from A to B.

Especially considering it'll likely be another $75-$100 USD for shipping to the states.
