Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

You will be fine with the Power, but it will not work.
In simple words: you need an OS that interacts with the Card Reader to power on the SD-Card.
Try using a Raspi with the cardreader and unmount the SD-Card.
That is the "affect" you need unless you don´t have the MK3 or a camera to use.

My functioning configuration. Write response is good and have been using it since mid February 2018. No problems! W-03 Flashair SD card.

Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

I know this is for the MK3, but since i have got the MK2s (soon MK2.5), does the FlashAir W-04 work with the MK2 or its better to stick with the "W-03?

Either should work fine

By theory, yes. But i saw some posts around from some people that couldnt get the W-04 to work on the MK2S, thats why i tought to ask if anyone as the W-04 working on the MK2S.

I'm trying to use the flashair, but without much success...
I can access via http://192.168.1.32 using chrome. But if i try via explorer: \\192.168.1.32 i can't access the drive to upload files. It also doesn't show under network devices on Windows
Anyone have this problem?

Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

I just ran in to an issue where my FlashAir quit working. I finally figured out the cause was the display I bought off of amazon while waiting for a replacement from a Prusa. After several hours of scratching my head, I put the Prusa display in and all is well. Must be something different with the sd interface on the display from amazon.

... But if i try via explorer: \\192.168.1.32 i can't access the drive to upload files ...

AFAIK the flashair card doesn't provide a SMB/CIFS share but access via WebDAV.

In order to access the card don't use the UNC address (\\$host|IP). Try the http:// URL. For permanent mapping as drive see [1] or use the tool provided by the manufacturer.

HTH

Note: Not a heavy windows user myself so I'm not sure if you enter http://$host|IP explorer will do the right thing or just open the URL in a browser.

Via http on browser is view-only. On explorer redirect to browser.
It must work via UNC because i was able to access it two times while i was configuring, but now it doesn't allow me to access. I tried on PC and Printer both only allow me to view via browser.
As a note Wifi signal is strong, flashair shows on router (AC88U)
Can overlook my config and confirm thats right?

config - looks ok
on a couple of occasions i have not been able to access the card. usually it is after a period of inactivity.
try pulling the card and reinsert after 30 - 60 seconds.
give it about 5 minutes to reboot and then try to access it again

Ok i found the problem.
If i try: \\192.168.1.32 it won't work, but if i try: \\192.168.1.32\Files or any other folder it work! Why i can't access the drive root?

Don't you need the trailing \
If you can get to a folder can you go up one level?

Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

Hello,

i got my FlashAir W04 with 64GB, can access it via network drive, but in the printer (MK3) it says "No SD card".
I have changed SD mode to "FlashAir" and if i insert the SD card it says that the sd card is inserted, if i removed the card, it says it too. But under settings it always say "No sd card".

Does anyone know why? I tried nearly everything.
Best regards

I don't think an 8bit board can handle addressing a 64gb card.

I really didn't think about that! Thank you! 🙂

Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

The 64Gb card is also working.

First the printer (MK3) said "No SD card".
I format the card to FAT32 (it is originally extFAT). I used partitionwizard, but my virus scanner complained, so i suggest using something different.
After formatting you need to initialize the card with the flashair tool, this will put back the configuration folders and files. Then configure like described on page one of this thread. It runs now like intended. The mk3 sees the files and i can download files over wifi.

Re: Flashair Wifi SD card setup and drive mapping

I have two issues:
1) I can connect fine, but only to folders inside of the drive, never to the root, which fails. (Like the user above)

Secondly, the drive looks find in on my local machine, but through the network the size and data usage are wrong:

--> Those are the same card, woah, lol.
