@flo4print

If I follow you Kylian, cooling these parts (the smal chips)  would be the solution, I like it. Why not with a passive heat sink...

Hello flo4print.

I also thought about this solution. The problem is that I didn't know in advance if the overheating of the chips was the cause, and which particular chip to cool. Now that we know more, perhaps a more precise diagnosis can be made by applying your solution: individually placing passive heat sinks on each of the suspected chips.

RE: Crash detections now I have the printer in an enclosure

I haven't got my printer in an enclosure, but since updating my MK3S to 3.9.1 firmware, I've been plagued with false crash detections.

Here is a video of it - happens at 0:29

It's possible that updating the firmware has coincided with our Australian Summer coming on hard with a string of 35C+ days. This will have the EINSY well over 40C+.

I am in the process of moving the printer into an enclosure (enclosure is still under construction) with the power supply and EINSY board relocated to separated electronics bay that will have fan forced cooling. I'll also add some heatsinks to the drivers on the EINSY to further assist with heat dissipation.

I'll report back with my results.

For smaller parts the solution I found is to print the object on the rear of the steel sheet, the heat bed is not on the Y motor and let it cooler. I measure more than 45 degres on the Y motor and had crashes before this solution, and 39 degres whithout crashes with this solution.

For bigger parts it will not make the trick.

When I will receive heatsinks I will try something, but I am not confident because the heat bed will warm the Y motor with or without heatsink on it.

Sorry for reviving an old thread. Were you guys able to solve the crash issue with cooling the Einsy? I'm having phantom Y-axis crashes when printing round things in enclosure.
