Bondtech LGX for MK3S & Mosquito Mangum Hotend

Hi.  I've recently purchased a Bondtech LGX for MK3S & Mosquito Magnum Hotend for my MKS3+.  I installed the unit per the Bondtech videos on their website, reusing the Prusa thermistor and heat cartridge (used SliceEngineering thermal paste). I also flashed my unit with the custom firmware from Bondtech and performed the factory reset.

My hotend is unable to heat past 230 deg (at least per the thermistor).  I typically run at 245 deg C using Ninja Tech Cheetah filament with no problems. At around 220 deg heating starts to slow down and then never get past 230 deg.   It seems like the the hotend is actually continuing to heat up as the tip starts to smoke a little and the filament starts to liquify.  I tried replacing both the thermistor and heat cartridge (from my Prusa spare parts kit), but still have the same issue.

Do I need to be using the Slice/Bondtech 300C thermistor to properly work with the custom firmware?  Could it be my board?  Anyone else have this issue?  Thanks!

RE:

I have a similar setup : Bondetch LGX +Mosquito hotend. No problems reaching up to 300C with the original Prusa thermistor and heat cartridge.  The only difference is that you have a Mosquito Magnum and mine is the regular  version.  It would seem that the Magnum needs a beefier heat cartridge ?.  That's strange. Neither Bondetch nor Slice Engineering mention that in their documentation or FAQs.

As you suspect that the cartridge actually heats up much more than 230C and you replaced the thermistor without success, there must be something else going on, because the stock Prusa thermistor and 40w heat cart. should work fine.  If you purchased the kit directly from Bondtech, you best move is to contact their support online.
