Bad idea? More-tightly constrained filament path within extruder
I've been interested in printing as-flexible-as-possible filaments. I've had issues having the filament wrap around the gears once in a while, so I figured I would try making an extruder without such a large gap at the gears.
It takes a little bit of sanding to get the surfaces completely free of the gear surfaces, but it appears to all go together. Does anybody see anything obviously stupid with this before I finish assembling it and giving it a whirl?

The main problem I can see is that if you need to adjust the position of the Bondtech driving gear you have to remove the motor as the access to the grub screw is obscured. The shape of the inspection window on the far side to the door will need changing so it can be accessed.

Unrelated to your question but I would add a tiny bit of white lithium grease to the teeth of the bondtech gears to prevent the rust that I see already forming.

@martin - Good point. I suffered a little bit getting the gear in the right place. It was mostly trial and error, loosening a smidge, sliding, and trying again. I actually did model in a cut for that, but disabled it for (probably bad) reasons I no longer remember. I'll revisit that.
@gaston - Hopefully it doesn't actually matter. But I can clean the gears and lube them.
