3D Printer Fire Hazard Counter Measures

Hello all

I'm a bit concerned about fire hazard with 3d printers left alone in a garage or home, printing for long hours without anyone near it to prevent major damages.

I've read a bit about enclosures, fire stopping devices, energy safety cuts, etc, and I found the best "info pack" to be this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/6cgft0/alright_lets_talk_3d_printer_fire_prevention/

One of the most effective fire stopping devices I found was this: http://blazecut.com/small-enclosures/electrical-enclosure/

But the perfect solution with power cut, fire detection and online status in your smartphone would be for eg an AJAX system. The price though...

So I leave 2 questions for the community:

1 - Have any of you had any work related to this prevention systems?

2 - Have any of you used fire suppressing systems with the 3D printers?

Best regards

Re: 3D Printer Fire Hazard Counter Measures

I just put my printers in this fireplace when I am away or in bed.
that is a leg of lamb hanging from a 1830s vintage bottle jack and this logs are 4 feet long.... and no i don't have a fire going when use the fireplace for a fume hood (also useful for printing ABS for fumes)

Has there been a case of an actual Prusa (not a clone) catching fire?
