Slicing the MM herringbone gears

I want to print the four color version of the herringbone gears, but I'm having trouble slicing it. I'm using Prusa Slic3r 1.37.1. If I import the .amf file, or the _A.stl file followed by Loading the remainting .stl files, the 3D tab shows how I expect the model to look, but if I slice it, then the Preview tab shows nothing and returning to the 3D tab, it is now completely blank. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

You may have been bitten by the following bug:
https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/issues/535

In that case you may try the patch release:
https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/releases/tag/version_1.37.2

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to use this program. It comes with no installer, and have no idea which pieces need to be copied, which need to be renamed, nor where any of them go

I have had similar issues getting new versions to work. I am a dinosaur when it comes to getting things like this to work but I did manage it.

I did it by finding where all the files for the previous version had been stored. I then moved these to a back up folder incase of any problems. I took all the files that had been extracted from the zip file for the new version and just put them where the old version used to be. Hope this helps.

Here are the instructions for installing Slic3r beta versions. It's under "How-To Guides"

Still not working for me. What exactly needs to be copied to AppData in Step 5? All the settings folders? One of the settings folders? The contents of one of the settings folders? What if I want to run beta versions of MK2MM and MK2MM - Single Mode? Thanks.

Re: Slicing the MM herringbone gears

Finally got it. I extracted the value of the Target field of shortcuts created by the released package, and pasted it into Notepad. It was much longer and more complex than I’d expected. However, the necessary changes to be made were now clear, so I have both MM and MM-SingleMode versions working. Next to see if I can get the Linear business into my firmware.
