Prusacontrol - crash on model opening
I'm having a recurring problem with Prusacontrol. It loads fine and i can set my printer, spin the stage and all, but when i attempt to import a model it locks up and i have to kill it with task manager. It doesn't seem to matter what model I attempt to open. I've tried ones from thingiverse as well as ones i've created. I made a simple cube and it still locks up. I can use the same models in slic3r without issue.

I am having the same exact issue. Looking for an answer. Just ordered a printer and wanted to get into understanding the software.

I was using Prusa Control 9.4_415 with no issues for many prints. I then upgraded the video card on my machine from the integrated mobo gpu to a nvidia quadro k620 dedicated gpu. Prusa Control now goes not responsive upon import of an .stl. If I switch back to my mobo integrated gpu, Prusa Control imports stl file just fine. So now I use my Win7 laptop to slice....
gigabyte h27dm-ds3h motherboard.
Win10 x64 pc

I'm running a dedicate Nvidia GPU as well. wonder if it's related.

Yes, I too have a dedicated Nvidia video card, it's on my CAD workstation. I was going to try my laptop and see if that made a difference.

I "upgraded" to Quadro P600 NVIDEA and had the same problem. Windows 10 64bit Home.
Solution for me:
1) Open PrusaControl properties (right click on desktop PrusaControl Icon)
2) Click on Compatibility Tab
3) Click on Run Compatibility troubleshooter
4) Click on Try recommended settings
5) Click on Test the program
6) When program opens try to import .stl - it should work
7) Click on Next
8) Click on Yes. save these settings for this program
9) Click on Close
You should be good to go.
