MK2.5 and firmware

Dropped the order in on my Mk2.5 upgrade and while I wait I thought I would ask a stupid question.

Will the 2.5 upgrade need its own firmware given the filament sensor etc and how much of the Mk3 filament sensor features will be achievable (ie clog detection)

I am guessing the sensor will go into spare endstop ports on the rambo? Cant wait to read the upgrade manual and start working out my upgrade!

I believe all of the filament sensor functions will be identical to the MK3 as it is exactly the same unit as well as the entire extruder -12v. Should be all good.

there must be a difference, because of the temperature sensor for the P.I.N.D.A-2.
at the rambo board, you don't have access to the port used at the EINSY board for that purpose.

The P.I.N.D.A. v2 will come with a y-cable, I guess the thermal sensor cable will go to the 3rd temp connector on the miniRAMbo. Same for the Noctua fan (should be 12v) with rpm signal cable to a free pin like P3,x max, y max or z max. The laser filament sensor is I2C and will be connected to P3 as on the EINSY.
Pinda and laser sensor are 5v.

Great questions ! Just contacted them this morning about the 2.5. I ordered mine October 18th and was told the shipping dates have slipped again and now I can expect it to ship by end of Feburary. : (

Look @ your join date & # of posts. If > 1/day, please read more and type less. We will both be smarter for it.

I guess they wait for the powder coated spring steel sheet being available and good quality. I think it is worth to wait for it. You could ask if you could it get earlier with the pei spring steel sheet as they did for MK3 users.

Re: MK2.5 and firmware

Any updates on this ?

I've ordered a PINDA v2 probe as I am having problems with my PINDA v1, which seem to be because of temperature drift.

I really want to try this thing out, but the manual for the MK2.5 is not released yet.

By the way, I think there should be a separate upgrade available just for the PINDA, I personally do not need a new bed, I would buy the MK3 if I really need it.
