I can't update slicer from 1.31.6 to 1.33.5
First of I will start by saying hello. (new to the forum)
I am waiting for my printer to arrive but have already downloaded from the Prusa website the software so I can play with Slic3r to familiarize myself with it.
I have the 1.31.6 up and running no problem and I downloaded the zip file 1.33.5 for 64bit windows but I am stumped.
I open the zip file but I don't know hoe to get the Slic3r software to update.
Any help will be very much appreciated after all you computer savvy people have stop laughing at me haha.

Hi,
You can't update it because it's not for update. In the zip file is a completely new Sclic3r. Just extract all files and start the Slic3r by Slic3r.exe.

actually you can just keep both version and using your existing settings (Direction are for Windows 10):
Unzip the 1.33.5 file
rename this folder as SlicEr 1.31.5
Move it to: C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\Slic3rPE 1.31.5
Go to the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Prusa3D" Folder, copy the shorcut "Prusa3D Slic3r MK2" to "Prusa3D Slic3r MK2 - 1.33.5"
Edit this new shorcut and change target to ""C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\Slic3r-1.33.5\wperl.exe" slic3r.pl --DataDir "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Prusa3D\Slic3r settings MK2", change Folder to ""C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\Slic3r-1.33.5", click on "change icon" and choose %ProgramFiles%\Prusa3D\Slic3r-1.33.5\slic3r.exe.
Now double-click on this new shortcut to launch it, you can then pin it to the Task Bar 🙂

Or maybe yet simpler:
Keep the official Slic3r which comes with our Windows drivers intact, extract the new Slic3r*.zip somewhere, download the Slic3r settings for the MK2
(read the new readme on https://github.com/prusa3d/slic3r-settings )
and extract the settings for the MK2 to "C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Slic3r\" or "C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data\Slic3r\"
Then the unofficial Slic3r will load the settings from C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Slic3r\, but the latest official Slic3r will load the settings, which came with the drivers package.

Just to give an update.
I have somehow managed to get it working with the help of all your instructions and a bit of playing around. I am the type of person that presses download and then open to get things to work so this was a little testing for me.
All the help appreciated.
