Z axis issue

Hi All!

I just finished building my MK2 upgrade and was having some problems with the Z axis during calibration.

When I run the self-test the z axis does not stop lowering and jams into the heat bed until I turn off the printer. I went through the instructions several times to see if I missed an end stop, but there does not seem to be one for the Z axis. Have I missed something?

I have successfully loaded the new firmware and everything else seems to be working.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Christina

Re: Z axis issue

I had a similar issue at first and it turned out that my P.I.N.D.A probe was a bit too high. I'd make sure that its adjusted per the documentation.

I double checked the PINDA and it still does it. I've raised it and lowered it. I have it exactly lined up with the wire hook as the instructions say now. Is there anything else that could cause this?

Re: Z axis issue

Did you run the self test? this will check the end stops.

As suggested the probe may be positioned incorrectly or the Y axis may be too far back/forward such that the probe is missing the bed insert (marked with a dotted circle).

Ensure the bed is hitting and triggering the Y endstop hen moving back. Ensure the probe is connected properly to the RAMBo (the probe is the Z end stop).
