Using a FlashAir card?

Powered up my new build last night and was delighted when I calibrated and saw the 'congratulations' message and printed my first samples 🙂

Before the kit was delivered I bought a 32Gb FlashAir card after reading about wirelessly copying files to the printer - and set
it up on my PC to connect to my wireless network and have successfully copied files to and from it - so I inserted the FlashAir into
the Prusa and printed a couple of things - but could not see the card wirelessly from my PC?

I have changed the 'sdcard' setting on the Prusa to 'flshair' - but that didn't make any difference (although the supplied SD card still worked
with the 'flshair' setting rather than 'sdcard')

Now the Prusa will not see the FlashAir card - doesn't even come up with the card inserted message??

Still works fine when inserted into a card reader plugged into a USB port on the PC - I can open the gCode files and read them without any problems?

Any ideas anyone?

Chris

Re: Using a FlashAir card?

The FlashAir cards won't automatically appear on your PC when trying to access it using wifi. (it does show up as standard sd-card when u stick it in a card reader) In its most basic default configuration, you need to find it's IP address from the router and open the FlashAirs IP Adress in your browser.. like so: http://192.168.x.y/upload.cgi . If you do configure it with WebDAV you could mount it as a drive on your PC, but still it won't show up automatically.

Unfortunately, the configuration of FlashAir cards is a royal pain in the back end and i already made a complete fool of myself publicly insisting that i could help folks getting this setup in no time, so i am a bit leery to give much advise here.

In short: if you manage to get the cryptic configuration setup properly, they do work fine in the Prusa MK2. I've used FlashAirs on my Prusa and am still using some FlashAir card on my old Dremel Printer.

Whats worrying me is the fact that somehow your MK2 doesn't detect the card anymore when you insert it.. That does sound wrong. Does the card still work in a card reader on your PC?
