Unable to calibrate
Hi,
I have just finished building my kit and have turned it on for the first time.
The message "Printer has not been calibrated yet, please follow ...." comes up. I press the "Enter key and it reveals the Status Menu. Pressing again reveals the main menu on which I try to access the Settings options. However, the screen just fills with dot matrix squares and repeats the message "Printer has not been calibrated ...."
Am I being stupid, or is there a problem somewhere?

You ahould go into the Calibration menu, not the Settings menu

Thanks but that is the problem - I cannot go into any sub-menu.

Hmm... Can you take pictures of each step as you turn it on? Ive been using mine for two days, so Im not an expert in any way, but it was pretty straightforward for me to calbrate it.

Oh, I completely missed your point in the openning post, sorry.
I'd leave this to someone more knowledgable of electronics than me, it seems there's a hardware problem.

Looks like it's not detecting the SD card either.
Check the connection of the ribbon cables from the LCD at the Rambo board. The red stripes on the cables should be facing the top of the Rambo board. Also make sure the cables are not shifted up or down by 1 pin.
Also check the routing of the ribbon cables, I've read that they're susceptible to interference.
