Thermal instabilities on heated bed

Hello,

I wanted to ask what is going on with my heated bed. I have been seeing these dips at least once or twice per hour on long prints, but now it has gone quite insane.

Any ideas or solutions?

Re: Thermal instabilities on heated bed

the temperature of the heatbed couldn't change that fast and in this erratic way !

so you've (1) either got your thermistor loose (check if it's fixed secure with kapton tape underneath the heatbed), a defective thermistor wire (2) or a badly crimped connector plugged into the rambo board (3).

yes, ok, it's possible that the thermistor itself is refusing its job as well (4).

most likely will be #2.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Yup.. it was a broken wire.. Apparently I have ziptied it too hard or something and it just broke off..

Is it possible to replace the cable itself? Say I cut whole cable leaving few cms to the socket and the thermistor? Does wire gauge matter?

yeah, no problem. wire gauge doesn't really matter for the thermistor.
