Hi!

Would it be a good idea to lubricate the rods with a dropp of Sewing Machine Oil?

Re: Sewing Machine Oil

beside sticky hardoil nearly any oil will do the job.
furthermore it's recommended not to use oils with a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acid, because they might spoil your nose when they oxidise. 🙄

💡 personally I prefer a drop of simple SAE 5W30 motor oil, which lasts longer than very thin oil like valve oil (for trombones and trumpets).

anyhow: only a tiny drop is required.... and just for steel rods in combination with ordinary bearings. don't use oil if you've got drylin's.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
