Replacing Thermistor with stripped screws

So I've been struggling with my Z axis lately peeling up my first couple layers, so I had to scraped the ball of PLA goo off my extruder. While doing so, I caught my pliers on the thermistor cable which snapped like a twig at the base of the thermistor.

Generally not a problem, but after disassembling my x axis to replace it, I realize my screws are stripped on the extruder head. (I haven't even messed with the extruder in the past).

So now I have a broken thermistor wedged in my hot end with no way to get it out. Before I take a drill to this, any suggestions?

I have a replacement thermistor, but can't put it in until the other one is out. (Preferably with both screws intact)

Thanks
