Printer only works when plugged into a laptop/computer

Hello

I've been using my printer for the last year or so without any problems but when I was doing a print the printer just stopped midway through a print, the display was off along with all the other components, but the power supply was still running. So I thought I'd plug my laptop in and the printer to my disbelieve started to work but as soon as I unplugged the laptop from the printer using the usb port it would stop working and I would go back to stage one.
Any help guys?

Sounds like your Rambo might have a power problem and it only powers up from the USB when connected?

Does the display still work or could that have gone out? I've read other posts regarding tight wire runs chafing to the point of wires breaking or just becoming unplugged.
One person found the issue was a broken wire by using a multimeter.
