mounting y-stop question [SOLVED]

I am very confused about Steps 27-31.

Perhaps all would be clarified if I knew what is suppose to actually press up agains the button? My guess so far is the slide collar is the thing the presses the button so please clarifiy.

The confusion starts with picture 28 showing the Y-endstop being mounted on the left, inside portion of the slide rail. Then step 29's photo shows it suddenly on the right, outside of the slide rail. Then again on picture 31a shows the sensor on the bottom of the slide rail.

Lastely, with the Y-endstop mounted on the slide rail with nothing more than a zip-tie it seems to me that repeated pressing of that button would slide the entire button assembly thereby cause drift over time. What are your thoughts on this?

Re: mounting y-stop question

Hello tim.o!
The LM8UU linear bearing is supposed to press the endstop button.
Changing positions of the endstop is only for convenience (it shows the best position for that specific time, for example, if you tightening the ziptie, it's easier to do it the ziptie is facing out). The only correct position is shown on step 31 where the endtop is facing down.

The ziptie mounting of endstops is tested solution and it works very well, we didn't caught any problems with that yet. The force which is necessary to push the endstop is very low so you don't need to worry about that. And if you would accidentally move the endstop somehow, the printer is constructed to this situation so you'll don't damage your printer, only weird sounds will be a heard 🙂
