First print. mixed bag result. trying to figure out to improve qulity (Need Help))

Hi guys. I just got my kit last week and assembled during the weekends and tested my first print

i tested 3 prints and they turned out ok for a first print

for some reason when I print marvin the surface is not smooth and it has some waves(?) wobbles(?)

same thing happens on the back as well

All the prints are from the Sd card that came with the printer

do you guys know how to fix this problem?

Just a couple thoughts...

For some reason, I had troubles with all the included .gcode files. I would try slicing Marvin yourself with Slic3r PE and see how it goes.

You might also try moving all of your axis from their minimum to their max and make sure there is no spot the cables are catching on anything

You might also check your x and y belt tensions to make sure they're nice and snug like in the assembly guide.

Lastly you might also try slowing your printer down a bit Tune->Speed-> maybe 60 or 70 just to test

That being said, nothing obvious jumps out at me...just some things you might look into.

Good Luck

The pre-sliced files really are a "one-size fits all" solution. They will usually work and produce a good result but all printer are not created equally and they are being used in different environments with different filament.

Until you get your printer fully calibrated and your slicer dialled in you will only be getting good results and not great ones.

You need to make each print a learning experience and read these forums; there are a load of gems here...

Yep fixed my problem. Turns out my y axis belt was a bit loose and after tightening it works fine.

Excellent....nothing better than when you have a printer you can count on. 😀
