Can't get good print

He folks. I'm having problems. I've gone through all the calibrations and everything else. When I did the calibration, I had to dial the z down to -.700 to get a stable print(see picture.) . The very next one was so close to the bed that filament wasn't even coming out of the nozzle. Now I corrected by dialing back to -.500 and the test square looked ok but I can't get a good print. It's almost like leveling is wrong. What should I do?

Re: Can't get good print

Hopefully you found the steps here:

http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-i3-kit-building-calibrating-first-print-main-f6/-before-you-ask-troubleshooting-video-updated--t472.html#p39190

You should print somethings from the SD Card first, to make sure the printer is working correctly, then shift to thing you slice (as you may have a good printer, but bad slicer settings).

Please post a photo of the calibration square, and an item from the SD card - say the Prusa Logo. If those look good, then I would focus on your model and how you are slicing it. If those look bad, post here and we can try to help.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

I did that. I've been back and forth with tech support. Last night I had a good print, and then today I tried to print again and I'm back to having crap prints.
