Blank screen on LCD, makes noises but nothing else
Just finished my build, and while things went well aside from a few bolts I turned a bit too hard, I'm dead in the water as the LCD isn't working.
When I turn it on, the light on the board comes on, but the LCD does not. When you press the button, you can hear a few weird sounds very low, and when you turn the dial a yellow light on the board lights up as well.
I did check the connections to make sure they were in the proper slot, and they were, so I'm a bit unsure of where to turn next with this one.

Any chance you could upload photos of the ribbon cable plugged in at both ends (2 photos, one of each end).
There have been issues in the past where the ribbon cables are not quite as they should be.

Looks like you have the connectors the wrong way round on the RAMBo.

Note the locators are pointing to the centre of the board, not the outside as you have them.

That was it apparently.
I had the cables in the right slot as shown in my photos, but they were turned the wrong way in the slot. Thankfully that was an easy fix lol. Thanks again for the advice!
