Slic3r Update 1.31.6

Hi All

Not sure this is a problem so to speak, but have updated to the new version of slic3r and have noticed a couple of things.
Firstly, the first layers now seem to be lower in quality than before using the standard PLA I brought with the printer. I have my printer tuned in via filament settings for 1.02 in the multiplier but in the case of the screen shot, I had to also up it on the printer to 1.06 flow rate to get a full effect first layer. I have also noticed this on the other prints I have done since updating that the first layer seems to be under extruded.

You can see the difference where I changed the flow settings

In case it matters I created separate Filament settings for all the filaments I use so the default settings are always applied only leaving the fine tuning around the model.

Secondly, it now takes longer to print a model slic3d on the newer version. For instance I Sliced a model and printed it noting it took 6hours 45mins thereabouts, I used default settings so know its nothing to do with infill. I was then asked to print one off for the mother in law so sliced again after updating and it took just under 8 hours to print. I am thinking that there is now more base and top layers and this is what is taking the time as I am sure I remember it was 4 top and 3 base layers before and it now 6 and 5 for a .20 print...or maybe mine was wrong before and is now correct?

Any ideas

Following on from this, the print has finished and has weird blemishes on two of the sides. Not sure if this is over extruding now or under? or something else entirely.

Re: Slic3r Update 1.31.6

I seem to be having a conversation with myself over this today. have printed a number of items, including 1 I sliced with the old version. The old version printed fine. The newly sliced items I have had to change my Z tuning from -380 to -440 to get a reasonable finish on the first layer. I tried one print and put the first layer back to 0.15 instead of the newly changed .2 but it still does it. It basically doesn't extrude as much on the first layer as it used to. I am going to trawl through some Gcodes to see if I can find out what has changed.

All my test are in varied Micron size, but the main issues are with .35 which worked great before, and below are what has changed. Is the retract lift too high also?

; retract_lift = 0.15 changed to 0.5
; extrusion_width = 0.7 changed to 0.45
; first_layer_height = 0.15 changed to .2

Some support material items have been changed but they are not the cause
; external_perimeter_extrusion_width = 0.7 changed to .6
Some infill settings changed but again not the cause here

; perimeter_extrusion_width = 0.7 changed to .43
; top_infill_extrusion_width = 0.74 changed to .43
