Resume print after power failure?
So I was 18 hours into a print when a storm rolled through and killed the power briefly.. From reading around online (namely here: http://www.print3dforum.com/showthread.php/280-GUIDE-How-to-resume-an-interrupted-(abruptly!)-3D-Print ) I think I'll be able to find approximately the right line in GCODE to resume the print and get the print head to the right location. Is there any way to tell the printer not to run the pre-print calibration? If it does that when I'm resuming obviously it won't work well. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I was really looking forward to finishing up the print. Running OctoPi with an MK2S.

you are unlikely to have a satisfactory resolution with your proposed option.
have you considered taking the print off the build plate, and printing the remainder then glueing the parts together?
do you have a UPS for your printer...
if not, it's worth consideration.

I just had the same thing happen yesterday morning. Will be getting a UPS.

A UPS is definitely coming up. I'll consider printing the remaining portion and gluing, but it's not in a good section of the print for that. I'd still prefer trying to resume the print if I'm able to skip the bed-level calibration. Either way I'll probably end up reprinting the design, but this way seems like a more interesting exercise.

I use a 3000VA UPS, but I would think a 300VA would be OK for an hour.

With UPS, the cheaper ones don't seem to handle all outages the same. Cheaper units really struggle with brown outs (power dips), so careful plugging things that draw huge power amounts or big initial draws. If I plug a vacuum into the same circuit my cheaper UPS will drop everything briefly.
