Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi,

Not sure if anyone have the same issue but when I try to Add the "Extruder-motor-side.stl" 1.75 to Slic3r it "Auto repaired 23 errors". Wanted to print a new one as the original one deformed after I had a thermistor failure. Very happy with the Prusa support as they send me a new one immediatly 😀 .
When I try to export to G-code Slic3r just hangs. Any tip is welcome.

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi Luc

Can you please let me have a link to that file; I will try it.

It may be that you need to repair the file, either with NetFabb or online: https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/

You could always try a different slicer (I prefer KISSlicer, but also use Cura).

For me, KISSlicer produces more accurate results with fewer issues, whereas Cura is the quick and easy solution. Cura version 15.04.02; I found later versions very poor in comparison.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply. Here is the link, standard file downloaded from the Prusa website.

Peter,

Do you have the G-code file you use internally?

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi Luc

Yes there are a couple of errors found with KISSlicer, but nothing significant. Slices and saves OK.

If you want me to slice it for you then please tell me temp/layer height/support etc. and I can slice and put the gcode onto my FTP for you.

Luc

I think I can see a problem; there are a couple of small extrusions required which are floating in mid-air:

The good news is that the STL will upload to Tinkercad for fixing.

Luc

There are a couple of gcode files on my FTP, one for PLA the other for ABS

PLA: 205, bed 45
ABS: 255, bed 100

Both sliced at 0.2mm layer, 16.7% infill, 3 loops and 0.4mm nozzle. No support or raft.

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi Luc

You were getting a connection. Try this link: ftp://PrusaUser:[email protected]

You may need to copy/paste into your browser.

And BTW, I have nothing to do with Prusa Research; just and interested printer...

OK Peter. Unfortunately I tried with FTP client, IE, Chrome... Not allowed in. Do you have OneDrive?

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi Luc

Sorry, I am a tad old-fashioned... No OneDrive.

I have tried the link with both IE and FireFox from a remote site in the UK and it works fine. Maybe something at your end (windows firewall?) blocking.

Try downloading KISSlicer and slice with that.

Apparently, I can add the files as an attachment as a ZIP file.

So here they are (hopefully)...

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi guys,
I'm getting a similar error with the extruder carriage side (only it's like 60000 errors in Slic3r). Do you think you could make a gcode for that side when you get a chance? Or point me to correct code? I am printing out the entire extruder for spare parts. Thanks!

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi Amanda

It's a tad difficult to slice something for someone else; I will if you let me know what settings you need.

Have you tried running the STL through NetFabb? I believe that the program is supplied in the driver package.

Re: Printer parts Slic3r error

Hi, download STL below and you will be fine even with slic3r. Interesting thing is, that slic3r for MAC dont have problems with original extruder STLs from PR site, only Windows Slic3r do :). Josef knows about it quite long time, I dont know if he decided to replace these problematic STL files or not.
