New to 3D printing Please Help

Hi All, I'm pretty new at this and have had a couple problems with which I could use some help.

First, the Prusa Slicr does not seem to like my computer. Is it Windows 10 compatible? I've tried installing it several times, tried turning of security software in case that interfered with it. It takes forever to start, then I get a not responding message. I tried the non Prusa version of the same Slicr, which seems to install and run fine, but tells me that my settings are wrong. (I don't know what setting to enter)

Finally, I tried Astroprint. I had some success, but problems with my last tries at printing a fidget_star_closed that my daughter downloaded. It seems to print fine for first 70%, then the print separates from the bed. After reading in the forum a little, I thought the answer would be to increase the brim, but my daughter says a glob of plastic forms at the top of the print, then the nozzle bumps into the glob, knocking the print loose.

I used the glue stick to prepare surface before printing and am printing in cold, (needed hair dryer to start print, shop about (50 F))

I am guessing maybe I should change retraction or brim settings, or maybe print during daytime when warmer? Suggestions for Astroprint settings, or other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
