X - Button frustrations

ohh please tell me, short of taping it, gluing it, or desolder the damn button how do i remove its function, or reprogram it ?

It wold be nice if it worked as a return button for the menu system, not a reset funktion 😳

Me and my kidz have testet it several times, it works flawless, but the funktion is hopeles.

So is it a hard reset og can it be reprogramed ?

Best regards

You have not needed the button yet? I have needed it several times whenever something stupid happens. It is great so just get used to it

And can you reprogram it? I do not know (the firmware is open source). I think it might not, because it might be a physical connection to the "Arduinos" reset pin.. But you could take out the cable from the button to the EINSY pin header.

I would NOT recommend that.

I suppose you could always print a new cover with the button filled in, and just a hole centered over the hardware button. Then you couldn't press it accidentally, and could still reset with a paper clip or such.

It's a hardwired function straight to the board. So you will have to desolder it or remove the pin from the cable or make a new cover. The einsy board has extra function pins I think so u could program a function to a button wired to that.
