I would like to know this as well as I am also considering buying the Olsson Ruby Nozzle as i would like to experiment with abrasive filaments.

I asked support:

it is the same hotend - E3D V6 - just the ptfe tube and heatbreak are slightly different (it uses these components from the multimaterial version of the hotend)

So the nozzle is the same.

I've been down a similar path, I need to order some nozzles so I also asked this. I also intended to replace the hot end itself with the plated copper version for better temperature stability but was advised against doing this by support - not sure why. I don't mind if it takes longer to heat if it is more stable.

I'll be running basic calibration and getting a feel for the printer using what comes but the nozzle won't be in there long, I intend to use 0.25, 0.4 and 0.6 sizes and definitely harder than the standard, though I'm not sure I can justify the Ruby. It would be nice if such optional extras were made available at purchase time.

I'm also planning to build a complete additional V6 hot end from E3D with the higher spec plated block and also PT100 - then I'll see what the difference is. I'm not sure why they would have selected to use parts from the multi material hot end, don't understand the reasoning behind this.

MatterHackers is having a Blue Friday sale, and they have the Olsen Ruby Nozzle at a pretty good discount. I think its at $75 on their site (retail at $90).

I have no experience with the copper hot end, but after a PID tune using the printer firmware, my temperature fluctuations drop to almost non existent. You can also add a silicone sock which helps avoid the dreaded blob incidents and also helps with the temps.

Which is probably why I was told it simply wasn't necessary, so I likely won't bother unless I encounter issues at higher temps.

The harder and larger nozzles (0.5+) however are necessary if you want to play with Carbonyte type materials, I doubt a brass nozzle would last long with it.

It seems that the socks aren't really recommended - at least that's what it says on one of the FAQ's here.

Will the MK3 still use E3D V6 Nozzle? Just want to order some extra nozzles as I wait for the printer.

Looking into maybe the Olsson Ruby Nozzle.

It uses an E3D V6 Hotend so yes. I ordered a Olson Ruby in .6mm. Abrasive filaments do better with a slightly bigger nozzle. The olson is supposed to be E3D V6 compatible.

I guess I'll get the Olson Ruby .4mm and see if Santa brings me a Olson Ruby .6mm for x-mas/b-day 😀

These fit the e3D hotend snugly. The PINDA probe is off to the side. The closest thing these may interfere with is the plastic behind the fan in front of the hotend. Hasn't posed a problem yet for me.
