Other print surfaces, and manual interruption

I'm on the edge of buying a MK3 to replace my aging CoreXY printer, and have a couple of questions.

First, can I use a print surface like LokBuild or PrintBite, by sticking it to a spare steel sheet. I've really come to like to both surfaces compared with PEI. I guess the main concern would be whether the PINDA probe will work with their extra thickness.

Second, I love the recovery after power fail feature. Is it also possible to *manually* interrupt a long print, turn the printer off, then resume later. The scenario for this is a long print that I don't want to leave running overnight.

Hi David.
Different surfaces. Depends on their thickness. If thixker than pei. It will reduce the pinda to model separation.

This may be ok. Have ro try and see.

Stopping over night.
Not one of the listed options.

Is it likely that you would loose bed adhesion if rhe bed cools.

Colour change knocks the exttruder heater off if left too long. But keeps bed heated. And beeps....

If you disable the beep. You xould probably wait over night... but the bed uses a significant proportion of the power busget.

Power pacic is not intended to be used in this fashion.

PLAis supposed to ot need a heated bed. So you could try power panic with pla... but you risk losing the inirial time investment if it fails to continue

I agree with Joan.T for most of these.

HOWEVER...
If you are using Octoprint, you are able to "pause" the print, it would be possible to set the pause script to send the nozzle away from the part, and turn the heaters/fans/stepper motors off. (and back on with the resume)
BUT...
I agree with Joan.T as well... you have a good chance of your print popping off the bed during this time, or at least GREATLY decreasing it's bed adhesion.
ALTHOUGH...
PETG, FLEX, and PLA generally stick rather well, and I'm not sure they would cause issues cooling for an extended period of time. The only issue I could see, would be the oozing from the nozzle before heading back to the part... but that shouldn't be anything a touch with a razor wouldn't fix.

Regarding your first comment.

I keep my Pinda probe LOW. (I like it around .6mm from the end of the nozzle) When doing auto-leveling, I have over .6mm of clearance from the print bed. So unless your sticker is .6mm thick, I would assume you would be fine, would just need to re-do your live-Z calibration, etc. (If you take a 0.1mm sheet off, and put a 0.5mm sheet on, chances are you will crash your nozzle into it rather quickly!) But I honestly don't think you would have any issues as long as the plastic sheet is UNDER 0.5mm.
