I have been lurking here for months, anxiously (but hopefully patiently!) reading up on any bit of new info.
Admittedly, the glued PEI sheet announcement and with how it had been handled originally (forced with unsatisfactionary alternative options, virtually no notification to recipients (I didn't get an email on it so far), voucher but no free shipping, etc.) left me with a bit of a sour taste. Pretty sure that's not quite kosher according to EU rights either, but I don't want to dig deeper anyway.
I'm willing to, how do they say, grab a pint and wait for all of this to blow over. I'm fairly sure (read: hopeful) that this all will get handled in a satisfactionary way in the end, and the announcement by Joseph looks like a good step in that direction.
What definitely could be said ever since the announcement of the MK3 Prusa had dropped the ball on good and proper communication to the customers, and that's bad. There is no excuse for that, and this must change in the future.
Now for the real reason I'm coming out of the woodworks:
If the powder coated spring steel sheets weren't send free (read Joes latest blog post) for people receiving a sticky PEI sheet sheet, I would start an "Sammelbestellung" here in Germany. By the way - any one from the region around Cologne here?:-)
German here as well (Berlin). I think the voucher and free shipping in its current form will only be valid for a single sheet, but I'd probably like the whole range (textured, smooth, and whatever else they'll come up with) so hit me up for the Sammelbestellung if it'll happen.

I surely will! To be honest, I think it is in the realm of possibilities, that you can add more than one sheet to your order and with the supply voucher get free shipping and 10 bucks off one sheet. Economically and ecologically this would make sense since Prusa does not earn anything from shipping (I have looked shortly into UPS shipping costs and could not send an "MK3" as cheaply as Prusa does so thats about that). We will see!
I was a bit annoyed first by the #sheetgate story. But I think in the end the options that Prusa offer are good and make everyone happy. One could always cancel the order after all. But lets not discuss this any further.
Yeah and regarding consumables or replacement parts - I wonder why people do not group for "Sammelbestellungen" more - for me it is a no brainer!

In this context not a problem for me, but there's a list of reasons why it's not being done that often:
1) Trust a more or less tranger by sending them the payment for the article
2) Delivery takes more time
3) The one doing the actual order has to do a whole lot of repackaging and reshipping to different people
4) Handling returns is a hassle, as it has to go through the person who actually ordered
5) ...?
It would be nice if the free shipping applied to the complete order, I'd definitely get some additional parts in then (filament, maybe some spare parts).
For now though I'll go for the metaphorical 'pint and wait' option.

I have been part of one big Sammelbestellung once which worked out perfectly so I have a good feeling when the community is a good one (which I feel this here is).
Of course, if even two people living in the same city do a Sammelbestellung it is an instant benefit (Trust, no repacking, no second shipping, etc.)! But when you need to pay 20€ for shipping from Czech Republik and within your country only pay 6€ is is interesting across cities anyway, I think.

I suggest you go and study EU consumer legislation
I have, and nothing they've done has violated it. If they shipped you the PEI plate without notice, then you'd have a valid argument.
Also, if you have an issue with the shipping schedule, that easily resolved as well:
"If you don't receive the goods within 30 days, or within the mutually agreed period, you must remind the trader giving an additional, reasonable time limit to deliver. For example, if the trader has informed you that delivery is delayed by a week because of problems with his suppliers you should consider giving him an extra week.
If the trader still does not deliver within the extended deadline you're entitled to terminate the contract and be reimbursed as soon as possible. You do not have to give the trader an extension if he refuses to deliver or when an agreed delivery period is essential, for example, if the goods in question are needed for a specific event, for example a wedding dress."
Problem solved, according to "EU consumer legislation", your legal recourse for their contract violation is to cancel your order. Enjoy.

I didn't realize so many children were ordering Prusa printers. 🙄
Equally as bad as the whiners are the apologists... 🙄
And we'll all get our printers when we get them. The one's who can't wait, can cancel their order. Nothing any of us say here is going to change that.
