Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

This is GREAT!
May I make a suggestion? It would be easier for us to see if we have the latest version if a "version number" could be included on the first page of each section. That "version number" could be nothing more than "ver: date". Where "date" would be the first date this version is offered.
Thanks again to everyone at Prusa Research

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

Clearly insufficient Gummy bears ... no mention after section 4 ... looks like Jakub ran out. Probably needs to specify how many Gummy rewards are allowed at each section 😉

On a serious note I'm not sure how much value difficulty levels and times add, to some a moderate task will be easy, to others not so, some may take 5 minutes where others take 20.

What about adding some sort of 'Attention' beyond simply red highlighted text on items that really need it such as bearing alignment. Something that is language independent with a blown up image (if feasible) of the attention item - not everyone reads things thoroughly and you must also consider the Dyslexic. There are a couple of places where it mentions left and right - but doesn't really state from which viewing perspective.

There are 'add comment' call outs on each section but I'm not sure if we are expected to fill this in at some point or not.

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

The x-carriage backplate is different to the MK2, so there is a redesgin neccessary. Probably on the Rambo Housing too. 🙁

EDIT: this may work: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2311596

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

I am am bit supersized that the Noctua 40x40x10 fan and part cooling fan pictures show 5V and not 24V!
As you can see in the part description of Original Prusa i3 MK2/S to MK3 upgrade kit they should be 24V.
Maybe it changed or maybe they didn't have the right pictures available.

Really like the Einsy 1.1 upgrade patch board, so that the SPI Flash and some other things is also on boards of the Einsy v1.0 available!

Why couldnt the fan's be 5v even if the Rambo is fed with 24V?

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

You can't get those fans in a 24V package - I think only the steppers and heater etc have made that particular move.

The Noctua are 5V or 12V (NF A4x10 Flex = 12V, NF A4-10 = 5V)

In fact you will struggle to find a 24V fan in these dimensions let alone a quiet one.

Really like the Einsy 1.1 upgrade daughter board, so that the SPI Flash and some other things is also on boards of the Einsy v1.0 available!

Yeah, turns out Noctua can't make 24V fans easily, so they switched both fans to 5V. You can see that in the schematics for the einsy on github.

A Noctua rep confirmed that Prusa ordered a bunch of 12V fans too, presumably for MK2.5 upgrade (and also commented that they don't make 24V fans).

The description in the MK2/S to MK3 upgrade must be incorrect.

Hi

I am curious for the STL files. I have a Bondetch gear sitting just begging for these.

Wonder when these will be released so i can try to make my MK2 a MK 2.25 (lol)

Best regards

Prusa is just busy uploading the SCAD and STL files to their Github. So in the next hours or days we have them 🙂

Love Prusa to be open source in hardware and software!

Pict. 6 - Steel print sheets - smooth PEI sheet, glossy powder coater PEI and textured
powder coated PEI

How cool is that.

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

1. I didn't see any mention of adding a Raspberry Pi Zero W to the Einsy board in the assembly instructions.
2. It looks like there are 2 versions of the Einsy board, and one of them needs a daughterboard to correctly drive the LCD panel.

I solve problems, usually with computers ...

Re: Building manual MK3 is online!

Went through it. Nice and clear explanations, as I expected. Seems doable if you have at least one right hand (sorry for the lefties on here, in your case it should read at least one left hand of course). My own left hand is very left indeed, not even good enough to hold a hammer.... :). As foir the remark on the Raspberry Pi W integration, correct I missed that one too. Have decided already to go with a "classic"Pi 3 though, since the Pi Zero is a bit overwhelmed when trying to stream video...

Those stl files are wrong, they show up at least 100 times too big
