Maybe a quality issue with MK3
Hi,
i think i have quality issue on my MK3. I think it just does not print high quality as MK2 did.
can you please check the pictures and suggest a solution? The silver parts are printed with MK3, the brown gears were printed with my old MK2

It is a common thing that is happening to many users

Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
your idler pulleys are loose, tighten them so they can spin freely but dont wiggle
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
thanks for both reply, i will check it shortly.

There is no solution today
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
I get the same, to me it seems like under extrusion after retraction/travel moves. getting totally fed up with it now too
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
Do somebody has a good MK3 or all of them are the same?

see pictures also
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
I have also been getting worse quality out of my MK3 compared to my MK2. I was planning on selling the MK2 but since I have been having so many problems with the MK3 ( power supply died, filament sensor died, bad print quality) I have been thinking about doing the opposite.

😯 There is something strange going on... So many similarities.

I have better adjustment on first layer, but did slicer cause those?
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
I am using Simplify3D and I have the same problems.
I showed a picture with similar problems on Reddit and someone told me it was related to "Coasting Distance" and "Wipe distance".
It is also related with "Optimized starting points on layers" and "Random starting points".
At first I thought I had problems with vibrations or loose pulleys. But when I started changing the previous settings I mentioned, it started to make sense but I couldn't solve the problem 100%.
When printing a cylindrical (with 0% infill) piece I used "Optimized starting points on layers" and the blobs you see on the side of the print aligned vertically. When using "Random starting points" they got randomized.
The coasting distance affected how long the "defects" showed on the side surfaces. I couldn't get to a conclusion on Wipe Distance though.
I had the "force retraction between layers" turned on during all prints.

What you have going on is a called a Seam.
In slic3r you can change seam position under Print settings - Layer and perimeters - Seam position
you can chose from Random - Nearest - Aligned - Rear
Re: Maybe a quality issue with MK3
So should i use random?
Btw, this slicing was made in Prusa, it is presliced file in SD

could it be the quality of pla is bad? i see all the pictures uses the silver pla. did somebody tried with other filaments?
