MMU2S - Improve controlls

I have found the MMU2S to be difficult to use and unreliable.  One frustrating aspect is that often I can see what is wrong and how to correct it but there are no controls provided to implement the necessary actions.  In my experience the firmware and mechanics get out of sync easily and it would be helpful to provide the operator the means to correct the situation rather than necessitating the abandonment of a print.  There needs to be a way to tell the printer and MMU that a problem has been corrected and to set the state of the firmware to reflect the conditions that the operator knows to be true.  I have suggestions for several changes that I believe would alleviate the problems:

1. Provide controls that force the MMU to recalibrate while a print is in progress and before a print is started.

2. Provide controls to rotate the drum and move the selector head while a print is in progress regardless of the state of the sensors or what state the firmware thinks the MMU is in.

3. Provide controls that can force the MMU to a desired state while a print is in progress regardless of what state the firmware or sensors think it is in.

4. Show the state of the sensors, position of the selector head and drum on the display while printing and provide the user the ability to change the values if he knows the information shown is incorrect.

Thanks,

Steve

RE: MMU2S - Improve controlls

I agree 100%.  It is so frustrating to have the problem visible but not be able to control the motors to (a) move the selector clear of the problem area; (b) advance or reverse the feed as I want, not as it wants to do; (c) jog the gears or bearings for cleaning; etc. etc.  Surely there could be a sub menu in the controls to allow manual control of the MMU to clear problems!  In the mean time, I'm about ready to remove all the motor shafts and saw cut a screwdriver slot in the ends so I can at least do what I need while the power is off.  The message MMU needs attention is so annoying when the ability to fix the problem is so limited.
