Heatbed cable positioning

Dear fellow Printers,

after an interesting exprience with my y-Axis today I think I should adress the issue, how I fixed it and also what I would suggest to improve with the design. To start everthing off Iam using the Original Prusa MK3.

After I spent some time printing today I noticed that my Y-Axis wasnt moving all the way to the end of the axis and instead making some wierd noises. It turned out that the Heatbed-Cable got stuck in the Y-Axis and was blocking it (see pictures). Fortunately I realizied before the cable was completly torn appart and broken.

I assume that somehow the cable sneaked its way onto the axis and got stuck there since the cable is not fixed in place at all. I decided to put some iso-tape around it and fix it with tape to where it belonged.

Towards the Prusa-Team:

As far as I can see I think the issue would just be fixed by fixating the cable somewhere where it cant jump onto the Y-Axis Motor.

If you are having similiar issues and need further explanaiton on how to fix please contact me via E-Mail [email protected]

Best wishes!

RE: Heatbed cable positioning

the thermistor wires are supposed to go above the aluminium Y carriage along the underside of the heatbed

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

Also your textured sleeve is supposed to be secured in the plastic mount too which it is not.  That is just asking for cable problems due to premature wear.
