Unlinking rectilinear fill from top fill pattern in Slic3r?
I print a lot of functional carpentry things with my printer, and trying my hardest to use Slic3r as my only... slicer.
I want to print the top fill at 0 degrees, while the solid layers underneath at 45 / 135 as usual.
In Simplify I can set two different values for internal fill and top fill but can't figure out how to do it in slic3r. TIA! 😀

I don't think it can be done with Slic3r currently. You can set an angle for fill overall, but not separate by top layers.

Yeah it seems that way, I'll stop clicking around in circles looking for a setting then 🙂
Re: Unlinking rectilinear fill from top fill pattern in Slic3r?
I think you could use modifiers in Slicer to do this.

Is this just an appearance thing? If so, why not just rotate your model 45 degrees in the Z axis? That will essentially print all layers at 0 degrees (or 90 degrees, depending on which direction you rotate the model.)

@kenour
Yes, If I'm understanding your need correctly, this can be done very simply.
Here is a quick example I prepared using height range modifiers. Layer Angles example
I rotated the example to your description, however I would have said it differently.
