Trouble printing with Prusament ASA Prusa Galaxy Black

Hello...

I just started printing, so everything is new for me. I started printing with ASA, but i can't get it to stick to the smooth pei sheet, i also tried to use the powder coated pei sheet. I tried adjust the z-axel as well. I use isopropylalkohol to clean the pei.

Any ideas what i could do?

Thanks.

Mark

RE: Trouble printing with Prusament ASA Prusa Galaxy Black

Have not yet opened the ASA but in getting started there were a few issues that created problems and may be worth a look. 1. Ensure the alcohol is pure and the towel is clean and your hand oils are not leeching through the towel (i.e. multiple layers). Not sure if that's a real issue but read it previously. 2. Let the print bed heat up. I have found using the separate pre-heat before executing a print helps. My hunch is the heat soaks the build plate more uniformly and it is not merely a localized temp at the sensor.  3. I had my first layers too thick (not squished into the textured plate) enough on my first tries. It was difficult to know what was correct from photos and after a dozen tests with calipers and being frustrated and willing to destroy anything necessary started lowering the head while watching the print in real time lower than I thought was necessary and it was like magic. Also presuming the temp settings are per the prusa spec and you are on a prusa printer.
