Stringing on mk3s+ with eSun TPU 95a at transitions?

Hi,

I've been trying some time with the mk3s+ and the Esun TPU 95A and unfortunately I don't create a clean transitions with less stringing. I researched a lot and thought about the following.

Little Stringing:

- long retract (2mm)
- fast retract (40mm/sec)
- slower print speed
- higher driving speed (movement about the transition without printing)
- lower Temperatur (215 °)

I find all kind of speeds in the speed menu of the PrusaSlicer, but no driving speed. Where is it hidden?

If I decrease the print speed, I also have to decrease the volume flow. Does the Prusa Slicer automatically set this?

Thanks!

have you set prusa slicer to expert mode?  simple mode shows few prompts, advanced and expert, show more!

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

Yes I have set Prusa Slicer to expert mode otherwise I think could not change the rectract settings.

Have you dried the hell out of the filament? Print from a dry box?

I also usually use sequential printing when printing multiple parts.

Yes, I have small boxes with silica, ~35% humidity.

Silica gel is not for drying filament, its for keeping moisture at bay a little bit.

When people talk about drying they mean actively, with something like a repurposed food dehydrator or one of the more expensive dryers that are basically the same thing but cost lots more.

Yeah, that's not going to cut it. Maybe okay to keep PLA alive but not nearly enough to dry TPU.

Yes but the problem was since the purchase of the eSun filament.

That means little to nothing. I try any TPU before use, even if I just opened the bag.

Also, if you zip up your 3mf file and post it here, folks here can take a look and see if there's anything suspicious in your settings, or even do a test print.

In that 3mf project your filament settings are:

Extr. multiplier=1.15   -  Temps: nozzle 230/215 - bed :50

Fan:  off   -  MVS: 1.2   - Retract: 0

I print eSun TPU95 with reasonable good results. My settings are:

Extr, multiplier: 1.05   -  Temps.: nozzle: 220/210 - bed: 50

Fan: from 0% at layer 1 to 70% at layer 6 and above

MVS: 2.5  - Retract: 1.0mm.

I’m not saying that my settings are better than yours for a Prusa MK3S, because I’m not using the stock Prusa extruder and hotend. Anyway, you might try enabling the fan, if not at 70% speed at least at 30-40% and see if it makes any difference. Possibly lowering the extrusion multiplier value would help as well.

Here are my settings:

Printer settings:
Retraction length: 2-3mm
Retraction Speed: 35-40mm/sec
Lift Z: 0.2
Retract amount before wipe: 100% (=coasting) => important

Filament settings:
Extrusion multiplier: 0.95-1.0 => important
Temperature: 210° => important
Custom G-code: M900 K130 (Linear Advance) => important

Filament settings:
Speed of print moves: 20mm/sec
Speed of non-print moves: 180mm/sec => important

Thanks, tried a lot, see below. Haven't done anything with the fan and MVS yet. Is the difference visible?
