Some say use PETG settings with ABS
Half an ABS spool later have not successfully printed any upgrade parts for the Prusa i3 Mk3 using Prusa Slicer 2.0. If you are using this combination would you please post your settings maybe a pic of the tabs in your Prusa Slicer.

Thank you for responding appreciate your time. I am using Hatchbox ABS in white. Maybe some pictures will help.
My procedure. I clean the bed with acetone every couple of weeks and before each print, I clean with alcohol. Finally lay down some glue stick.
Started off using Generic ABS profile and here are the results. BTW when I print I close the window in the room, close the door and allow it to print. After which I flush the room with clean air and here are the results. There are many suggestions online but no two agree. Have been at this for some time and my roll of ABS is getting down to half a spool. Any suggestions.

Looks like you're getting cloggs. It's hard to see in this small picture but I assume the part is not lifting/warping.
What is the layer height you're printing?

Can't be sure but I think the forum dictates how big the photo can be?

The settings are fine. This should work. I assume you've unmodified original Prusa MK3 (R2 or R3 extruder?)
What you can try:
- Make some cold pulls to see if the nozzle is clogged
- Make sure the PTFE tube is assembled correct.
- Try to print more parts at the same time to increase the filament flow.

The settings are fine. This should work. I assume you've unmodified original Prusa MK3 (R2 or R3 extruder?)

- Make sure the PTFE tube is assembled correct.
- Try to print more parts at the same time to increase the filament flow.
How does one tell if they have an R2 or R3?
I replaced the nozzle with a new one.
The PTFE works fine with PLA.
My first attempt was printing multiple parts, no difference.
Why are users so reluctant to post the settings in the Prusa Slicer 2.0 it is as simple as taking some pics and posting them.

Is the new one an original E3d-v6 0.4?
Post a picture of your extruder. R2 has the fan at 90 degree angle and from R3 they changed it to 45. R1/R2 are prone to heat creep.

Well you need to stay away from ABS and use PETG for your Prusa parts. To me, ABS is a bear to print with and PETG will work just greatL). The only part you need to print for your Prusa in ABS is your printer shroud on the bottom of the heat sink. Good luck and enjoy PETG:)

Why stay away from ABS? It's still pretty nice and inexpensive material with unique properties.

Because ABS is the same price as PLA and the uses for an average 3D consumer is not needed unless you want ABS warps like you had. Just stay with PLA or PETG and ur prints will be great and your home scent free. ABS stinks up your home.

You can do that and if PLA+PETG is everything you need, it's fine. But I prefer to print any material which is available at reasonable price and I pick the material based on the use case. I will also help other people to master to print all materials. Saying, just don't do that is not really helpful.

This is not my first search for answers on printing ABS and I get lots of folks suggesting I stay away from ABS and to that, I say; I want to print it as there have been reports of petg drooping while in use as the upgrade. Either way, I really want to print ABS. Still waiting for that on4e person willing to post settings on successful ABS print for the upgrade parts. I understand it may not work for me but it might be a good starting point rather then me guessing and trying many suggestions online.

Yes you can "work" ABS.

Yes, looks like the older R1 or R2 extruder. Newer are more reliable.
The default 0.2 MK3 settings with default ABS settings is perfectly fine. There is no magic switch. The issue must be somewhere else:
- Check filament diameter
- Make cold pulls, make sure the nozzle is clean
- Check PTFE tube is sitting correct
- Monitor the print and check when it starts to klick. Do the cold pull and see how the tip looks like
- Clean the radiator. Air path must be perfect.
I think you have/get either partial clogg or heat creep. Once we can eliminate any issues from the above list (hardware and filament), we can check for the regular heat creep.

Filament diameter is fine.
New Nozzle
The PTFE tube appears to be ok no problems feeding filament through during "loading filament".
If you mean by this "starts to klick" that the feed gear is not grabbing the filament is it fine alignment checked.
When you say clean the radiator do you mean take the printer head apart and clean the fins? It works fine for PLA.
Do you use Prusa printer and if so which one? Also, are you using Prusa Slicer 2.0?
