Skewed print artifacts - how do I get rid of these?

So I printed out this great little model holder for painting minis from Thingiverse ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3925959 ).  The pictures are of the "collet holder" part. After it printed I saw what I thought was a piece of stray filament stuck to the outside that got printed into the structure.  However when i printed out a second one, using different PLA, it had every one of what I thought were random artifacts in exactly the same places.  I am guessing this is a software/slicer issue and not a hardware issue since the errors were identical.  When I look in the slicer, the layers all look perfect.  I have only had my MK3s for a few weeks and am still learning the ropes.

Printer: Prusa MK3S, all software is current.

Slicer: PrusaSlicer 2.1.1

Settings: Default Generic PLA settings, 15% infill, gyroid,

The only thing I changed from default was to put a small brim around the bottom to make sure it stayed stuck in place (probably not necessary).

The orange print is Prusament PLA, the silver print is eSun PLA Pro +,  the prusament seems to print slightly cleaner.  I get whispy streamers quite often with the eSun, mostly when the extruder is moving large distances.

As you can see in the pictures there are at least 5 slanting vertical lines that were created on each model in identical sizes and locations.  Doesn't really matter on these, they are just for my use painting minis but I would like to figure out how to avoid this if I end up printing something I want to look a bit better.

Not sure if those pictures worked.  Trying here again.  They just show as broken links to me in my browser but if I right click and click show in new window I can see them.  Anyway, sorry for being a noob!

Seam position, play with the settings 😉

@knickohr

Figured it was something like that.  Thanks for the tip.

Seams are one of the weaknesses of FDM 3D printing, and unfortunately, it seems like PrusaSlicer handles them the worst of any slicer.

S3D gives you more control over where they're positioned, but that alone isn't worth the $150 asking price. Cura has some really good options for hiding seams, however.

Thanks for the help.

I found the seam setting pretty easily in the PrusaSlicer and just switched it from "nearest" to "random" and it worked well.  I printed one more of these in blue and there were no lines on it at all.  It looked much better.  The PrusaSlicer also has options for "rear" and "aligned" for Seam Position.  They are in the Print Settings tab at the bottom in the "Advanced" box for anyone who is interested.  You can see the option whether you are in Simple, Advanced, or Expert mode.

I am interested in trying out Cura as well to broaden my horizons.  Only been at this a couple weeks however so lots to learn. Cheers!
