You've stumbled into the infamous bulge question.

It seems to be a combined hardware/software issue that has been going on for years. Sadly, no easy fix. For a more extensive explanation of the problem and different  ways to keep it under control, search in the forum the word "buldge" ( yes,  mispelled like that).

Ahh okay, I hadn't searched for anything related to a bulge before.. only ridges and cylinder problems
