Reprint Fan Shroud
I need to reprint my fan shroud for my Mk3S. I saw a note in the file that this should be printed in ABS and came with the upgrade kit. Does this need to be printed in ABS? Is Nylon or PETG acceptable? Thank you.

I used the PC Blend.
My original (I assume was ABS or ASA) began to droop following a run of long ABS prints.
PETg would probably work if all you print is PLA. I have no clue about nylon.

I do print occasionally in PETG and nylon. I was able to print a new fan shroud in ABS. I'll see how that works. From what I have read from a forum search it seems nylon should be a good print since it is a higher temperature plastic. I don't have any polycarbonate to try but that is supposed to be the best. I have never printed with nylon, but a quick check on the Interwebs shows that it's usually printed with a nozzle temperature of 240-260, or about what ABS is.
From what you have, yes, nylon therefore will be the best. However, the reason I decided to go with the PC Blend was that it's of a higher temperature than the hottest filament I normally print with, which is ABS.
You might try to look for a sample size of a PC Blend, since it does not require much at all to print the shroud.

It helped me. I have a surface that is garolite covered for nylon.

Ok. I ordered it from an Etsy seller. I order it applied to a metal sheet so I did not have to fight with adhesives.

A good option is Extrudr GreenTec Pro (or Extrudr GreenTec Pro Carbon)
VST 165°C
HDT 115°C
For print conditions, use Generic PLA, but increase the hot end temperature to around 230°C & reduce standard fan speed to 50% and increase the bed temperature to 65°C on the smooth PEI sheet.
(Optionally, increase the k value to 0.5 for a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.12 for a o.4mm nozzle.)
It prints very easily and cleanly and no need for an enclosure.
