Prusament PC Blend not sticking to build plate

hw: Mk3S+ with Prusa enclosure.  Latest Prusa slicer and firmware.

I purchased Prusament PC Blend and I cannot get it to stick to my smooth sheet.  I first printed this model with PLA to sort out the model changes and I'm now ready for the final print.  With PC Blend, the ends pop up only one hour into the 16 hour print job, forcing me to stop.

After reading here, I found that most recommend Layerneer bed weld, but that hasn't worked.  I have not yet tried glue stick.

During printing, the humidity is around 10, so very low.  I have also put my PC Blend filament into a dryer prior to starting printing, but that didn't help either.

Any ideas?

If you can .zip your .3mf project and attach it here, maybe some of the more experienced gurus might be able to spot a setting that could help.

According to:       https://help.prusa3d.com/filament-material-guide

Glue stick is required with the smooth sheet.  Clean the sheet, wipe *once* across the sheet with the glue then spread it thinly with a wet paper towel.

That is a classic long thin part - add some brim and possibly 'Helper  Discs' at the ends 'though you don't have much room.

Print Settings > Skirt and brim       add as much brim as you can fit; if you set Skirt loops to zero you should be able to squeeze in a 3mm brim - 5mm would have been better.

Cheerio,

Awesome, thank you!  I will give this a try tomorrow.  I will have to learn more about "helper discs", as I haven't used those before.

I appreciate the quick reply and help!

Cheers

Why not print the part in 3 pieces and maybe all at the same time and use the woodworkers mortice/tenon  or 60/30 dovetails.

Less X Y and Z travel. Less strain on the stepper motors.

Then glue the 3 parts together. IMHO a much stronger job.

All parts to be printed flat, estimated total Z print height 6 mm ?

For what it´s worth, I only print on heated glass for any filament materials and spray with hair lacquer, this never fails me.

RE: Prusament PC Blend not sticking to build plate

I forgot to add. Anybody who has an interest or need to print large parts split and joining together using mortise/tenon or 30/60 degree dovetails. by rule of thumb I

design a gap between male/female of 0.15_ .2 mm. I have always used HAFIX "super glue" LOL , this allows about 15 seconds for pushing the parts together before it LOCKS, and boy it LOCKS.

Another silly rule of thumb, from many years of printing using the tenon techniques is to print print as far as posible the parts running in line with one another, this eliminates errors in X or Y of mating parts.

Sorry to say I am still using 3 X Geeetech printers, Mizar S and Mizar M about 4 years old. paid more or less $200 a piece, absolutely flawless.

The original designs based on the Prusa I3. Well done Josep. Brilliant man.. Albeit Geeetech has a hub in Germany, I can buy  replacement parts for 4 year old machines shipped to Spain in 3 days, no freight charges  or tariffs. LOL-

I cannot believe the amount of chatter dissatisfaction on this forum, Ref Prusa machines , they were the original masterminds of 3D printing and still are. Sorry I cannot justify  $1000 for printers and then it seems add on after add ons. All very clever mister Prusa, upgrades with extra upgrades. A good selling technique.

I can only print up to 2 different filaments at a time, the upto 5 spool options LOL I read about would do my head in. Less is sometimes more.

Come on now, justify why 5 colours, if multi colour is needed print the parts in seperate pieces and glue together.

Just my ramblings.

Good luck. this naughty tariff nonsense is not going away soon.

The Pope is dead, RIP , and he worked for God, God it seems works for Trump.

I have attached a photo of a typical odd shaped very large box I printed in 4 pieces with tenons etc, hope of interest.

Sad but true, a typical US guy owns a Mustang, very nice, his neighbour has a Ford Pinto, the CA speed limit on Highway 1 70? it´s been many years since

I lived there.

But what the heck. same difference, both cars will get you from A to B, but if you want Mr Mustang to get to work earlier than your Pinto neighbour then get out of bed earlier. LOL.

Most of my print work is to make male female molds for the pottery industry. My machines run about 18 hours every 3 days.

Again, IMHO the amount of airtime BS on this forum astounds me, maybe some members have more satisfaction complaining on the computer than throwing plastic at a heated bed.

Oh well. There are those who want a lifelong project or like me just and get something that will work off the bed, I print through the night, 98% success rate. and there are those who unfortunately are totally clueless, they think they know, and as they say. It´s easy to blame the printing machine ( a bit of a jab at Prusa I think) than the operator. Prusa is still #1 in the 3D printing business, and I am sorry to say not in my financial arena.

You need to send a Dxf STL Iges file. Not necessary in Zip.

I cannot accurately measure the parts using Prusa slicer.
