Prusa i3 MK3S print streaks in line with holes

I am getting strange streaks pointing away from all holes on this part, tried different filament. Preview in PS looks fine. Slowed everything down, but same thing

RE:

Make sure you are using monotonic for top and bottom infill patterns.  That's what you get when its printed in different directions and opposing directions meet.  Which monotonic was added to reduce/stop.

I hope monotonic is the fix, but it looks like there's something else going on.

If it turns out not to be the fill type, post a Zipped up .3mf project file exported from PrusaSlicer, so we can take a look and see. The .3mf file should be setup as you would when trying to print the part and will allow us to see all the settings as they pertain to the model in your project.

Note if you do not Zip the file the forum server will not allow it to be posted.

Good luck

What you are seeing is a common problem with how the top layer is filled and can not be resolved entirely. I would say that the areas where the different fill directions merge in your model do looked raised more than they should be though? These unsightly lines can build up with each of the top layers especially if there is a small amount of over extrusion for example.

The way that I often deal with this problem (when using PETG) is to design the item so that the top surface of the product is printed face down on the textured bed. Just take a look at the front panel of your printer - it has been printed this way.

@brad-2

you may also want to look into Monotonic fill.

thanks all! I looked for Monotonic fill and it was not to be found, I had installed PS 2.4 but I was running PS 2.2? uninstalled both and reinstalled the latest Perusaslicer and Monotonic fill is the default. Here is a pic of the result, far better than the silver PLA and noticeably better than the orange I printed with 2.2(didn't post a pic. I am going to keep playing but at this point it is usable, Thanks everyone!

You're probably seeing 2.2 because you didn't do and uninstall. If you look at C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\PrusaSlicer\prusa-slicer.exe and check it's version number. Failing that use a program like Everything and find all occurrences of prusa-slicer.exe

Monotonic is a relativly new feature IIRC did not appear in 2.2

Monotonic fill does seem to be the best option for top surfaces (unless they are small and rounded) and I use it most of the time.  To further hide top surface print lines I would usually also have a 0/90 degree infill angle and .34 extrusion width (sometimes I reduce the layer height for the top layer too). I also raise rather than recess surface text so that the fill under it is uniform.

I try really hard to design my items so that there are no obvious print lines because they are sold without being advertised as 3D printed. I am still learning though and always looking for new ideas on how to hide print lines - perhaps I will start a separate thread to gather new techniques?

That may end up beginning very helpful.
