Printing gaps smaller than nozzle diameter

Hi,

When I'm trying to print a model that has a gap on the printing bad and above, and the gap width is smaller than the nozzle (<0.4mm) the gap sometimes is being printed in the wrong width.

But when I'm flipping the model upside down, and the gap starts after a few layers, it seems to print it in the right width.

So the general question - what are the printing instructions (or modeling?) when trying to print a gal that is smaller than the nozzle diameter

Thanks!

RE:

Not sure I'm following you and truly understand the issue but if you're concerned that a gap on the print bed is smaller than you think it should be, check your slicer setting for elephant foot compensation and it to 0 or some smaller value than the default.

EDIT: It's under Advanced→Slicing, and you need to be in Expert mode to see it.
