Hi,

I couldn't find my issue:
Yesterday I started printing my new JetBlack ASA on my (new 🙂 ) i3Mk3s, the print quality was near perfect, but:

When I was done I realized the print stuck like hell to the structured bed, I was able to remove it and switched to the steel sheet for the next print.

Steel sheet was even "worse" I was able to get the print of but the ring of filament stuck like hell, so I tried the stick glue as a agent... 

even worse 🙁

How do I get the ASA not to stick too much?

Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!

You can change the z-first layer settings a little bit, set the nozzle higher or maybe use Bluetape or Capton.There are also sprays for it, like Dimafix and others. Some also use hairspray - but I have never tested it.

I tried Malerkrepp too little adhesion, Malerkrepp plus Paperglue stick enough all good until 30 min before the end of the 9h print.

Any other hint, I can’t be the only one with this adhesion, or am I leveling too low?

with filaments that stick too much to the bed, such as flexible filament, I use talcum powder

Update:
I printed a ASA yesterday with a lower zValue (i.e. higher print) which went well.

Currently I am printing something with a lot of surface so I am using tape 🙂

Hi Jan,

can I have your problem please? So far ASA was mostly a warping, shrinking, popping of the build plate pain for me.

I can confirm that Hairspray is an excellent method for ASA.  Have Printed Prusa ASA, Polymaker, and Generic stuff.  All with Hairspray on both the smooth and textured sheet. Vastly superior to talcum or tape.  Have not tried magigoo or other chemicals since for me Hairspray performs flawlessly.

For the folks talking about bed prep. I’ve been using my usual method of Aqua Net “Extra Super Hold” Unscented Hairspray. It works just as well as it does on PETg (sticks it for first layer, detaches easily when cool).

For those of you about to say something negative about hairspray:
I print 90+% PETg, mostly on the textured sheet (sometime the smooth). since 4/2018 I Have printed 48+ KG (tally of Amazon Rolls) of PETg, 4.8KG of TPU, 8 KG of abrasives + exotics like ASA, and 8KG of various PLA. Mostly on the Textured Sheet, some on the Smooth Sheet. Aside from the purge strip starting to show some wear (smooth has the nozzle heat bubble), and a noob mistake setting z too low, both sheets look perfect.
