PETG bed adhesion issues
I've got a very strange problem with PETG. I've read that with PETG, you should raise your live Z a little bit. In my case, it seems to be the opposite. When printing with PETG, I have to lower my live Z by about 0.05mm or it won't stick at all (to a PEI sheet!). My nozzle is so close my first layer looks horrible, but when I raise it, the nozzle just drags the extruded filament across the build plate. I don't have any issues with other filaments, I've used PLA, ABS and ABS-X without any issues in the past. What is the issue here? I have a spool of Prusa PETG and Real Filament PETG, both have the same problem.
Re: PETG bed adhesion issues
I just finished a print using AmazonBasics PETG and I didn't change Live Z at all - came out perfect, No problems with adhering to the PEI and the print came off with a bit of encouragement. (I have read that Windex is recommended on the bed for PETG, but I have not tried that.)
I used the standard Slic3rPE configuration for generic PET (230/85).
Re: PETG bed adhesion issues
Hello,
I use a lot of PETG filament, and for my PEI-bed I use a good( well know in the Netherlands, in a green boottle) dishwasher, one drop pure on the bed , I wipe it over, wash it off with water and dry it with a clean dishtowel for every !!! new print I do this, and this works perfect. I do not use any other method, it works also for PLA and ABS(sticks very good). Give it a try I suggest.
