Layer shifting on every print
I'm having problems with my new MK3S, upgrading from the MK2S. I got the powder coated sheet and am printing in PETG. I've taken the original model and re-sliced it for the MK3S. I've gone through a Live Z adjust and it is just about perfect.
I'm printing a headband similar to the Prusa for face shields and I'm finding that I consistently am getting at least one layer shift at some point in maybe the first 30% of the print.
I do note that it pops off incredibly easy. Usually I can just barely touch it and it'll pop free, I don't even need to remove the steel sheet.
I've been printing this model successfully on my MK2S for months, it's only with the upgrade that I'm seeing this issue.
Any suggestions? Is there some sort of chemical agent I should be applying to increase adhesion of PETG? (I know that typically you need a release agent, so this seems odd) Do I need to adjust the Live-Z to be higher or lower than normal? I'll take anything at this point.

I wash my textured build plate with dishsoap and water using a scotchbright sponge to scrub the build plate well...
Rinse with hot water and dry with paper towels

This is a brand spanking new printer kit, right out of the shrink. I've never printed another filament on it. Does it still warrant a scrubbing with dish soap in this case?

You are welcome to wait for other alternatives.
I suspect you already have dish soap, hot water and paper towels. so there is minimal capital outlay
you could have tried this faster than questioning the support you were offered.
then you would either be able to get on with printing, Like I do, or put this idea on one side and ignore it...
I cannot know for sure, what will fix your issue, I can simply make suggestions that processes which work for me, may work for you.
Happy printing, Joan

This is the sort of layer drifting/shifting I'm seeing. It occurs in every print of this model that I've tried so far. Always in the first maybe 15% of the model.

There's always the chance of manufacturing residue and contaminants from shipping.

Thanks, I'll give the soap the ol' college try.
Doesn't using a Scotchbrite pad screw up the PEI coating, or is that not a problem with the powder coated one?

Jo Prusa demonstrated how resilient the surface was, rubbing the surface with cutters. if it does get scratched the scratch will be att he top of the texture dimples, out of sight.
I only use scotchbright on my build plate, if sponge water and detergent on it's own, doesn't work!

Tried dish soap to no avail. Even tried moving the printer from its existing location which was on a less sturdy table to a rock solid piece. Still no luck.
The issue doesn't appear to be getting it to adhere to the build plate while it's hot (it looks like it only pops free once it finishes cooling).
Any other suggestions for what might be causing consistently, in consistent print errors?
The rest of the parts print fine, it's usually just a subtle "walking" of like 5-10 layers in the first maybe 10% of the print. Unfortunately, the model I'm using has functional pins in that first 10% and the shifting is just enough to make them unusable.
