Jamming on 6hr Plus Prints

4 hour prints look perfect but at more than about 6 hours the PLA filament jams in the PTFE tube.  I have been printing for years and small prints are fine.

When I take the hot end apart I find the filament has jammed in the PTFE tube.   I was in the room the last time the issue happened. At about 7 hours I heard clicking from the filament gears. I tried increasing the tension on the gears which improved it a bit. Then the clicking started again. This time I increased the temperature from 210 to 220 (PLA) and the clicking stopped again and then finally the filament jammed and could not be moved.

After the first time this happened I stripped down the head, heat break etc according to the online instructions, ran the calibration wizard and it ran fine perfectly for small prints before jamming on a long one.

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks Alex

That might be "heat-creep". See https://help.prusa3d.com/article/extrusion-stopped-mid-print-heat-creep_1948 for explanation.
When the printer is in a hot room/enclosure this happens most of the time first when PLA printing.

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.
