Internal thread printing problem

Please look at the pic. I'm pretty new in it and can't figure out what caused it. Thank you!

RE: Internal thread printing problem

Where did you get the part?

It looks like the threads are cut too deep and there are places where the filament is unsupported.  The natural stress is towards the inside of the curve and if there is too little to prevent it the filament naturally takes a short cut.

Reworking with a shallower thread - keep the overhangs less than 45 degrees, and perhaps slowing the print should offer a good chance of success.

Cheerio,

Slice it down to 2mm, reduce speed, and increase # of perimeters.

Some parts need to be sliced at the resolution the maker intended.  With overhangs such as threads, sometimes you need to increase perimeters, or slow down the print to 60 to 80%.  What Diem says is correct - it's poorly designed.  But sometimes you can make some slicer trial and error tricks to get a clean print.

Hi Diem!

Thank you for your help! I found it on tinkercad: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9qfhQE7cHiT-box-with-lid-v2-03mm-thread-dia-diff

There are no any additional info about settings. I'll try to change speed and see how it goes.

Thank you,

Misha

Guys, thank you very much! I changed speed to 75% and it did the trick.

Thanks again!
