Help with Heroforge demo model
Hello,
I'm using a .25mm nozzle and I've tried many different settings to get the Paladin mini to come out looking good. I've seen someone at work with the same model using a $300 ender 3d printer and it looks smooth on its surfaces. Mine is rough everywhere! I've tried different orientations on the bed, layer height of .03, .05. and .07mm. Played with the support settings. Nothing is working! Very frustrated with this. I know minis won't always print well, but at least I should be able to print a smooth model compared to a printer costing $1k less! lol

Any suggestions would be nice.
Thank you,

You've givens us very little description of what problems you're having and what settings you're using. Save a project (3MF) file with your settings so we can at least see what you're trying.

RE: Help with Heroforge demo model
My prints come out horrible and I've seen much better from every other printer out there. HELP!
Just finished a couple prints with stock MK3 profiles and when I look at them with a 20x lupe they are ugly, lines everywhere. What am I doing wrong?
I printed a model from ZYX company, and they claim their models come out fine on $200 printers. Mine has a bulge and zits on a layer. How do I fix it?
I just assembled my new Prusa MK3S today. It only took me 4 hours. I am amazingly fast at assembly. But the printer doesn't pass self test and makes this odd noise when I move the bed back and forth. Proof a Prusa is just sheet and I wasted my money.

I will provide screenshots tonight. The supports are very hard to come off, end up breaking something small. I use tinkercad.com and prusaslicr, I'll see if they can produce a 3MF file. Thank you, bobstro

You can get the 3MF file from PrusaSlicer. For troubleshooting this is the best way to generate 3MF files for this forum because the file will also include the print/filament/printer profile settings that you are using. Use the "Save Project" item in the File menu. (I would also advise for yourself to always use this when setting up prints. This will provide a snapshot of all the settings that you are using to generate your g-code so you don't need to rebuild them to re-print or make small changes in settings later.)

Thank you, Sembazuru. I've included the .3MF file. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you for anyone who takes a look at it. 🙂 Also included a finished model. See how messy it looks on its surfaces and edges?
RE: Help with Heroforge demo model
I can't attached either .stl or .3mf files. I didn't know this was a limitation here. So I've included the 3mf file but named the extension to. jpg.

Yeah... That's our bad. We forgot to mention that for some reason this forum for the support of Prusa printers and Prusa software doesn't support the Prusa suggested file format. (grumbling at the forum....) We have found that zipping the files works. Actually, since the 3mf files are actually zip files it might have made more sense for you to change the extension to .zip...

RE: Help with Heroforge demo model
First thing I noticed about the .3mf is you have your support contact distance set to the default of 0.1. That will make supports VERY difficult to remove. 0.2 is much better which is why when you select it it has the removable note after it. Some people up that to 0.25 or more depending on model.
You are also letting the supports be completely auto generated, does your friend who can print the model fine use auto supports in prusa slicer ? I rather doubt it. Ask them what settings/orientation support options they use so you can at least try to match it.
You have the printer set for a 0.25 nozzle but your extrusion widths are still set for a 0.4 nozzle under Print Settings>Advanced. I had to add a mk3s printer using the wizard again for 0.25 nozzle which then added in the prusa defaults for that nozzle size. After changing the presets to one of the 0.25 ultra details ones I made some tweaks to how I would try it initially. I dont claim to be any expert, especially with miniatures but the attached 3mf (renamed to .zip) would be how I would try it, at least initially as a starting point.
Unfortunately I don't have a 0.25 nozzle so I cant try it out.
I also trimmed the base so that the text underneath prints on the first layer rather than printing on support.

RE: Help with Heroforge demo model
I have a slightly different problem with my try on paladin. I have custom supports for the cloak, shield, etc. But at some point the supports get ripped from surface and the print is ruined. I have also added brim, but that did not help. Any tips how can I make sure this does not happen? Nozzle is 0.25, 0.1 height, speed is at 70% of standard settings in PrusaSlicer.
